Pinecone Bird Feeder

What a fun pinecone bird feeder for spring to celebrate the sunshine! This is a quick and easy pinecone craft that only requires a few supplies that you can easily find. Your kids will not only have fun making the craft but also watching as the birds enjoy the birdseed. I love to see all the different birds that visit my pinecone bird feeder each day. I have even added more peanut butter and seeds after they ate it all. I think its a great reusable bird-feeder, and it looks natural in any tree!

supply list for pinecone bird feeder craft:

  • Pinecones (you can look for these outside or you can buy them) I got mine at Hobby Lobby in the Christmas crafts section.
  • Peanut butter
  • Bird seed
  • Twine
  • Hot glue
  • Hot glue gun
  • Butter knifes
  • Spoon
  • Bowl
  • Scissors

pinecone bird feeder instructions:

  1. Make a loop with your twine, tie a knot, and hot glue to the top of your pinecone. You want this to be secure so that the weight of the peanut butter and seed mixture can hold as well as the weight of a bird.

2. Using your butter knife spread peanut butter between each of the pinecone pieces, you want it completely covered but not so thick that it slides off.

3. Add your birdseed to a bowl and with your spoon add the bird seed to the pinecone, shake off the excess.
