Supply list cinnamon stick Christmas ornament:

  • Large cinnamon stick
  • Large button
  • Twine
  • Hot Glue
  • (15) Strips of fabric
  • Starch (optional)
  • Scissors-fabric and paper
  • Hot glue gun

step-by-step instructions to make your own cinnamon stick tree ornament:

  1. Cut (15) or more/less fabric strips about 8 1/2″ long and about 1″ wide using your pinking shears.

2. Cut the twine about 10″ long for the hanging loop, and set it aside.

3. Decide the order you want your fabric strips to be and then tie all (15) strips to the cinnamon stick. Slide them up so you have a small piece of cinnamon stick on the top.

4. Using your hot glue gun add your loop of twine and your button to the top of your tree, I like to sandwich the twine between the button and the cinnamon stick.

5. Trim the bottom of your cinnamon stick to the length that you like.

6. You can use starch at this step if you want a more stiff fabric/tree, it is optional. Trim the edges of the fabric strips to create a “tree” shape.
