How to Make a Felt Corner Bookmark

Do you love to read and explore new worlds and get lost in amazing stories? In this tutorial, I will show you how to make a cute and colorful Felt Corner Bookmark. Not only will it help you keep track of your reading adventures, but it will also add a touch of creativity to your favorite books. So, grab your scissors, thread, and let’s dive in!

Materials Needed for felt corner bookmark:

step-by-step instructions to make a felt corner bookmark:

  1. Measure and mark 2 1/2″ squares on your felt.
  2. Cut (2) 2 1/2″ squares of felt using your fabric scissors.

3. Take (1) of your squares and draw a diagonal line across the square, mark a line, and cut the square in half, you will now have (2) triangles. (you will only use one of them).

4. Thread your needle with your embroidery floss, and tie a knot at the end.

5. If you want to stitch a design on your triangle piece, do it before your stitch the triangle and square together. Hide your knot on the back, and when you finish make sure to tie a knot to secure it.

6. Place (1) triangle on top of the square, make sure your stitch design is facing up.

7. Get a new piece of embroidery floss threaded and knotted at the end. If you need to pin or clip the pieces of the corner bookmark together you can do that now.

8. Starting at one of the triangle corners take your needle between the two pieces to hide your knot. To secure your thread make a backstitch/locking stitch to secure the thread.

9. Using the whipstitch, stitch all the way around ending on the opposite triangle corner. When you get to the end, do a backstitch/locking stitch to secure the thread.

That’s it, you did it! You’ve successfully made your very own Felt Corner Bookmark. These fun bookmarks are a great way to showcase your creativity and add a little flair to your favorite books. So, grab your current read, and slip the corner of the page into your adorable bookmark!
