step-by-step instructions to make holiday felt ornaments:
- Gather the supplies, and print out the templates for your felt ornaments.
- Cut out your ornament shapes with your paper scissors.
- Pin your ornament shape to a double layer of felt and cut the shape out using your fabric scissors.
4. Cut the length of ribbon/string you will need for the hanger. Make the ribbon a loop and glue the cut ends inside on the top edge of the back piece of felt. Try to glue it about 1/4″ from the edge so the glue will be hidden and away from the edge that you are sewing.
5. Sew any designs on the front of the top piece of felt first.
6. Now that you have the hanger glued in and the front designs finished, you will want to clip the edges together making sure the design is on the outside and the hanger is inside. Thread your needle and tie a knot in the end.
7. Start your running stitch hiding your knot between the two layers. Sew the running stitch along the edge about 1/4″ away from the edge leaving about 2″ to stuff your ornament. Keep your needle and thread attached while stuffing.
8. Stuff your ornament using small bits of polyfil.
9. Once your ornament is stuffed how you like it, use the thread you have been using and finish sewing the two pieces together. Make sure you double-knot the end and hide it between the layers. Great Job
