How to make a Model Magic Valentine Clay Heart Garland

Hey there, creative kids! Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and what better way to spread love and joy than by crafting something special to decorate your room or your house? This Valentine clay heart garland project is not only easy for kids to make but also makes for a fantastic Valentine’s Day gift that will warm the hearts of those you care about. Get ready for a fun craft using one of my favorite craft materials Model Magic clay! So, gather your supplies and let’s get started on making this cute clay heart garland!

Supplies needed for your clay heart garland:

• Model magic clay-I used red and white
• Heart shaped cookie cutter
• Ribbon
• Scissors
• Wax paper, parchment paper to work on
• Pen cap or something to use to make a hole in your clay.

step-by-step instructions to make a model magic valentine clay heart garland:

1. Set up your work space, I like to put down a sheet of parchment paper or wax paper.

2. Roll out, or press your model magic into a flattened disc shape, about 1/8″-1/4″ thick. I used two colors and alternated them on my garland. You can also do a swirl of the two colors.

3. Using your heart-shaped cookie cutter cut out your heart shapes. I have also just used a butter knife and that worked too!

4. Using a pen cap or a paintbrush handle poke two holes on each of the hearts to thread your ribbon through. I think another item that would work to poke a hole would be a straw.

5. Let your clay hearts for your garland to dry completely. Thread your ribbon through the two holes on each of the hearts, place the ribbon through the front of the heart, towards the back, and up through the front again to the next heart.

6. Continue until you have all of your hearts threaded onto the ribbon.
